Manowar press-conference and SACD-presentation at the Popkomm Fair






After the press - conference, the journalists are taken together with the band to the stand of Philips and Sony at the Popkomm Fair, where they have a special studio to listen to 3 songs from the Warriors of the World CD , in SACD format. A nice part during the listenings session is when they play 30 seconds in stereo - sound, after that the same 30 seconds in 5.1 sound and at last the same 30 seconds in SACD sound, so you can compare the difference, and the difference is HUGE !






After the listenings session, the people from Philips and Joey are telling the journalists the details about SACD. In several newspapers there are stories about this listenings - session, like in the dutch newspaper...

Music - business desperately want a follow - up for the CD

The music - business, who is in need, puts his hope in the SACD as the follow up of our traditional CD. The music - business itself knows it for sure already, it’s now the time to convince the audience. At the Popkomm Fair, artists and labels promote this new music invention together.

“ Stereo is dead “, that is the conclusion of the bandleader of Manowar Joey DeMaio, after a crowded listenings - session. “ The audience of today want to be surrounded by music, so you can feel the emotions and the power from the music “. He’s telling his story in a united stand of the electronica - giants Philips and Sony. In this stand, a number of journalists could listen to a few songs of the new record Warriors of the World, which is released as Cd and Lp, but also as SACD. Manowar is one of the first hardrockbands who got involved with this new way of playing music. The 4 guys are in the music business for 20 years and never reached a big crowd, only their true headbangers followed them. But during the yearly Popkomm Fair in Cologne, Manowar is all of a sudden the highlight of the day, everybody speaks about it. The press conference of DeMaio is visited by well - known media and people of the music business. The SACD cannot wish for a better Embassador. The musician, full with tattoos , knows how to speak about this product. Warriors of the World, full with bombastic hardrock, is also a sublime cd to show the possibilities with sacd. The music of Manowar is filling the listening - room in a second. The sound is coming from 5 giant speakers, everywhere you hear solo’s, choirs and bombastic drums. The total sound is amazing and surprising. The music is all around you.
